Our herbs are contain only
whole leaves and flowers. Most packaged herbs used for
teas and cooking are made of dust and are of a lower quality. Because of their unmatched
quality, our teas have exceptional, long-lasting aromas that
fill up the room when you brew them.
How
to use our herbs to prepare teas
Most of our herbs can be prepared as teas. Some are infusions
and others are concoctions. Each herb requires a slightly
different preparation, as explained below, to ensure that
it retains its aroma, flavor and medicinal qualities. Prolonged
steeping produces a bitter tea. Some of the teas are naturally
a little bitter and are traditionally sweetened with honey,
especially wild thyme honey, a specialty
of Crete.

Greek Linden Tea or Tilio, Flamouria (Tilia Europea)
| Tilio
is made from the flowers of a large tree-like bush that
grows under larger trees in damp mountains areas in Crete.
Tilio relaxes the body by improving blood circulation
and lowering blood pressure.
To prepare Tilio add one teaspoon of herbs to a cup
(8 oz.) of boiling water and boil for 2 minutes. Cover,
and let sit for about 5 minutes. Strain and serve it. |

Greek Sweet
Mint
 |
Our sweet mint has a strong intense aroma coupled with a refreshing
taste. You can only understand the difference by trying
it. By relaxing the muscles of the digestive system, wild
mint tea improves indigestion and stomach aches. It also
relaxes the blood vessels and more generally calms the
body. |
